I've worn contact lenses for the past seven years, and for each and every one of them, I've used CIBA's Air Optix For Astigmatism. Although I may not have experience with comparable products from different manufacture.
These lenses were very easy and forgiving to learn on. Newcomers to contact lenses should have very little trouble inserting/removing these lenses as they are quite durable and are not prone to tearing. After a few of my casual conversation with fellow contact lens wearer, this is apparently a very rare phenomenon. Many of them on the 1-2 week replacement lenses by CIBA, J&J, and B&L experienced a large amount of trouble in terms of lenses tearing during the beginning stage of wearing.
The comfort of Air Optix lens is wonderful. During the first twelve hours of wear, you honestly don't even know you're wearing them. If you decide to replace on a 2 month basis, you may experience a bit of discomfort during the last week or so during the 10-12th hour of use. To disinfect and store my lenses, I use B&L's ReNu Multiplus No-Rub. I find that this works a bit better than the regular ReNu, especially during the later part of the life of the lens. The lenses with the Multiplus tend to be more comfortable later in life with the added enzyme cleaner.
The only complaint that I have regarding these particular lenses would be that past the 12th hour of wear these lenses tend to cloud a bit. I do not use a rewetting solution, so this could be the cause. However, others who use this lens also experience similar problems. I often use my lenses longer than 12 hours, and this sometimes becomes a problem.
Overall, I love these lenses. Not only are they inexpensive, but they are comfortable and easy to take care of.
